This award recognizes an individual or a team that has positively affected adult learners through direct service to students or improved the campus environment for adult learners. Special consideration will be given to those who can demonstrate support and leadership of new, innovative programs or services that improve the environment for adult learners. The required statements of support must cite specific examples of leadership, innovation, and improvement.
Superior Service to Adult Learners Award
Criteria include, but are not limited to, the impetus for the program and its originality, program description, program goal(s) reflective of Penn State’s commitment to adults, program effectiveness (including affordability and sustainability), sensitivity to diversity, use of technology, number of adult learners served, and the impact on adult learner recruitment and/or retention. In addition, special consideration will be given to those programs that exceed the expectations of the unit/office.
